One of nature’s most awe-inspiring spectacles is the migration of the wildebeest in Tanzania/Kenya.  Every year, travelers from all over the world congregate in East Africa to witness the massive herds gathering in Serengeti and Masai Mara.  This article is my  guide f...

If you are planning to travel to Botswana on safari, it's a really good idea to get a solid grasp on the weather and wildlife patterns.  However, for this particular destination that's no small task.  I want to help simplify the seasonality issue in Bostwana so that yo...

Background Story

Celebrating Slow

Life presents us with every possible opportunity to be busy these days. In fact, busy often seems a badge of honor and there is the widespread expectation that we will be plugged in at all times. This website is about how we unplug and fully experience the life that’s right in front of us.

My background story is somewhat like the protagonist in the Alchemist. Alaskan-born, I yearned to travel and experience foreign cultures. On my travels, I wore many hats - press assistant, NGO worker, yoga teacher, copywriter, wife – in the end discovering I am right back where I started – living slowly, celebrating the simplest pleasures in life. The now of my story is about family and the fine art of falling desperately in love with the moment.

This blog is a celebration of those moments. It is an invitation to expand your sense of time and space, becoming rich in moments woven together in the tapestry that is your life.

Slow Life posts range from DIY projects to slow life stories and slow travel. I invite you to sit back, relax, and take quiet time to enjoy them…
